Helena Global Youth Service Activities for Saturday, April 26, 2008

HELENA—(April 21, 2008) This Saturday, April 26th, the youth in Helena will participate in several projects for Global Youth Service Day. Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the world, engaging millions of youth, with the overall objective being to mobilize local youth to become involved with service in their community.

This year, AmeriCorps members in Helena have partnered with local high school students in order to come up with the following service projects: A clean-up and landscaping project with the Helena Indian Alliance, Replanting and restoration of Mount Helena with the Prickly Pear Land Trust, and helping S.A.V.E. with their Trash For Trees recycling event.

All community members are encouraged to attend this event, which will kick-off at the Carroll College Campus Center at 11:00 am on Saturday. Volunteers will then decide which project they would like to participate in, and the day will culminate with a celebration event at 4:00 pm.

Please contact Rebecca Harbage with any questions, 207-513-0540.
